As ONE PACT prepares to meet fans in London, the Chord Chat sat down with the group to discuss the outshine tour, behind the scenes moments and British culture. This exclusive interview offers a closer look at the personalities and passion driving One Pact forward. The interview builds upon a reputation that feels both powerful and personal with a sincerity that resonates far beyond the music itself. 

Quickly becoming one of K-pop’s most exciting rising acts, One Pact are bringing the Outshine tour to the UK on May 18th at Islington Assembly Hall. As the group continues to build momentum, both on stage and through their music, this next chapter feels like a defining moment in how they connect with their audience.

TCC HOLLY : This new tour is very exciting. What is the concept of the Outshine tour ?

TAG : It’s been a year since the last tour and since we were last in Europe we released two (2) more albums “One Fact” and “1’Only”. So I feel like it’s focused on showing you guys the new performances. The new performances that we never did in Europe [yes, no, maybe and 1’only b-side tracks].

JONGWOO : We will have new stages

TCC EMILY : Alongside the outshine tour, “Sane” was released a couple of months ago, what do you hope fans feel when listening to it ?

JONGWOO : To stay focused and to see each member’s killing parts of the song.

TAG : For example, Jongwoo’s “rockstar” part.

JONGWOO : And Yedam’s solo dance. And Tag’s “doong doong” [sound effect] part.

TCC EMILY : What is one thing about One Pact as a group that you think makes you stand out ?

SEONGMIN : Aside from the part we self produce everything, we always put our ideas into choreography and songs. What we always try to do is when we are on a tour or in other countries meeting new &hearts we try to link up and just be together to feel like we’re all one together, to feel and understand their tradition and to give them an experience where they can feel like they’re not just watching our stages but we’re actually one together when we’re together.

SEONGMIN : All of our members have different personalities and we have our own “weapons” inside of us iconically. 

TAG : So I make songs, Jongwoo is crazy, Yedam knows how to dance and Seongmin just plays around all the time. 

TCC HOLLY : Which artist would you like to collaborate with if you had the chance ?

JONGWOO : BTS I hope so. Big Dream.

TAG : For me, Jay Chang. I hope we can collaborate with him one day

YEDAM : Because we have never actually collaborated with anyone yet, if we had the opportunity to collab with anyone it would be an honour to us. We’ll do our best.

TCC EMILY : Do you have a group chat ? If you do, what is it called ?

JONGWOO : OP. One Pact. It’s just OP.

TAG : We have “One Pact member room” or like “One Pact schedule room” with our staff in it.

TCC EMILY : Is there any member that is more active in the groupchat ?

JONGWOO : That’s for sure Seongmin. And Tag.

SEONGMIN : Tag shares a lot of videos.

JONGWOO : A lot of short form videos like reels.

TAG : But no one is watching it anymore.

JONGWOO : He shares nothing important.

TCC HOLLY : Which member do you think is most likely to lose something whilst on tour ?

[All members pointed to TAG]

TAG : To be honest, I feel like except for Seongmin everyone loses stuff often. 

JONGWOO : I don’t.

TAG : There’s me, Yedam, Jay who are on the same level. We’re always losing stuff and then Jongwoo sometimes, Seongmin always takes care of stuff.

TCC EMILY : What do you think you would be losing on tour ?

JONGWOO : Passport. Maybe not. I hope so.

YEDAM : We don’t want to be losing Jay.

JONGWOO : We forgot Jay.

TAG : We forgot to bring Jay.

TCC HOLLY : If the members were in a zombie apocalypse, which member would survive the longest ?

JONGWOO : [raises hand] Me ! Because i’m very strong and fast.

TAG : I feel like Jongwoo is gonna die first

JONGWOO : WHAT ??

TAG : He’s definitely gonna try and fight zombies but to be able to survive the longest in those kind of situations you have to run. This guy is gonna rock the zombies so he’s gonna probably die.

JONGWOO : I will protect you guys 

SEONGMIN : Everyone’s going to die because Jongwoo is going to turn into a zombie and he will bite all of us.

JONGWOO : I hope so.

TCC HOLLY : Which member would survive the least amount of time ?

TAG : Yedam just wants me to die. Just joking. Since we are one, if someone gets bit we will all be zombies together. One Pact is always one.

TCC HOLLY : Is there a member who secretly likes doing aegyo ?

TCC EMILY : Which member has the best aegyo and do you think your fans will agree with it ?

[Jongwoo aggressively pointing at Yedam]

JONGWOO : Yedam is so cute

TAG : Seongmin is good at doing aegyo but Yedam was born cute, it’s not that he is doing aegyo but he’s just cute. So maybe Seongmin or Yedam.

TCC HOLLY : This next section we’re going to teach you some british slang since it’s your first time meeting British &hearts we want you to be prepared for it.

TCC EMILY : We’ll be saying a phrase and we want you to try and guess what it means.

TCC HOLLY : This phrase is quite common in London, the phrase is “innit”, do you have any guesses on what that means ?

TAG : I know it so let’s let the other members try.

YEDAM : It’s “enough” ?

SEONGMIN : No it’s “internet”

JONGWOO : Do it.

TCC HOLLY : The closest thing in Korean would be “그렇지 않아”, it’s similar to “right” or “you know”. Could you try and use it in a sentence ?

SEONGMIN : We love &heart innit.

TCC HOLLY : Our last question is, do you have anything to say to the British &heart ?

JONGWOO : Since it’s the first time we’re going to the UK, we’re very excited for it and thank you to all UK &hearts for waiting for us and we can’t wait to be there.

SEONGMIN : We always wanted to be in London one day, we tried our best to tell our CEO and our company that we really want to go and make it happen so we’re very excited. We hope you guys enjoy the show.
