Lun8 are a group still paving their way in the ever-growing K-pop industry. It’s undeniable that they are a group full of talent and passion, from their live stages to behind the scenes moments. Their journey has been shaped by passion, growth and a constant desire to explore new sides of themselves.

With their Beyond The Moon tour bringing them to Europe, The Chord Chat had the pleasure to speak with the group about their journey, goals and behind-the-scenes moments that fans may not have heard before. From their ambitions for the future to the memories that have shaped them, LUN8 takes us beyond the stage and into their world.

TCC Holly : As you prepare to meet fans across Europe, what is one experience outside of performing that you’re most excited to have ?

Jinsu: During our last tour, receiving the passionate energy from European LUV8 and pouring it right back out on stage was such an amazing experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing how much energy we’ll exchange with each other on this tour as well.

Junwoo: I think what I’m looking forward to the most is making happy memories together while enjoying LUN8’s music alongside the passionate support of our European fans.

TCC Emily : Are there any special moments or highlights in your performance that fans attending the tour should keep an eye out for?

Takuma: Personally, I’d say ‘back.’ It’s the very first song where we get to showcase our stage performance, and since it features such a powerful performance, I think LUV8 will really love it. I hope everyone looks forward to it!

Ian: Unlike our last tour, we’ve prepared a lot of new songs and performances this timearound, so we hope you’ll pay special attention to our performance.

TCC Holly :  Your new album “OFF THE GRID” suggests stepping away from expectations and creating your own path. What does living “off the grid” mean to each of you personally?

CHAEL: To me, ‘Off the Grid’ represents stepping away from the gaze of others to walk one’s own path, bringing out a sense of inner freedom.

YUMA: I believe it means accepting and expressing who I truly am. I’m working hard to naturally showcase that authentic self on stage.

TCC Emily: What is something that happens backstage before every performance that has become a tradition or a special routine for Lun8?

Jinsu: Up until this album, we used to say things like ‘Let’s tear up the stage’ or ‘Let’s leave it all out there.’ But while preparing for this album, I think we head ontothe stage telling each other to just have as much fun as possible and enjoy ourselves up there.

Takuma: Since we perform in many different countries, I constantly practice the language of each country while thinking about how we can better connect with theLUV8 who come to the venue. Right before going on stage, we always do a huddle and shout a chant to boost each other’s energy.

Junwoo: We gather together to shout a big ‘fighting’ and intentionally build up our energy. All the members head up to the stage with the mindset of just having fun

TCC Holly: If you had one completely free day while visiting the UK, how would you spend it?

Jinsu: I want to walk endlessly through every street, fully immersing myself in everything the UK has to offer.

Chael: I’d love to walk around the streets, watch people go about their day, eat plenty of delicious food, and enjoy some shopping.

Takuma: I’ve always wanted to visit the UK, so I’m really happy to finally be here in person. If time allows, I’d love to see Big Ben with my own eyes!

Junwoo: Shopping and eating good food sounds great, but I want to spend time taking a relaxing stroll, listening to music quietly, and admiring nature and beautiful architecture.

Ian: I want to ride the London Eye, the iconic landmark of London.

Yuma: I heard the scenery is so beautiful that just walking down the street is amazing, so I want to take a slow walk and soak in London’s atmosphere!

TCC Emily : Looking back at your trainee days, what is one piece of advice you would give to your younger selves?

Jinsu: I would advise them to break free from rigid boxes, look at things with a broader perspective, and focus on discovering and expressing what makes them unique.

Chael: I’d tell my past self to work even harder and absorb everything during trainee days. The depth of your effort and preparation back then determines the level of ease and confidence you carry once you debut.

Takuma: I’d love to tell them to take more time to look inward and realize that it’s okay to slow down and breathe!

Junwoo: I’d suggest not being so hard on themselves, giving themselves a pat on the back occasionally, and facing new challenges without fear.

Ian: Dancing is crucial, but I’d remind them to stay consistent with vocal practice too. They’re doing fantastic, so I just want to say, ‘Believe in yourself and keep pushing forward!

Yuma: I want to tell them not to be afraid because, in the end, that dream will come true. Instead of holding back, I hope they learn to trust themselves and move forward with peace of mind.

TCC Holly: For someone discovering Lun8 for the first time through this interview, what is the one thing you hope they remember about the group?

Chael: I want us to be remembered as a group that truly loves jumping around and having fun with our fans on stage.

Ian: LUN8 is a really bright group, no matter what situation comes our way. We get along so well and share a genuinely strong bond as a team. So I hope people remember our laughter and bright energy for a long time.

Yuma: I believe LUN8 is a group that isn’t bound by a single mold and can show many different sides of ourselves. I hope you’ll continue to watch over our diverse performances and looks in the future.

TCC Emily: After everything Lun8 has achieved so far, what is one dream you still hope to accomplish together as a group?

Jinsu: Achieving great results is important, but another dream of mine is for us to continue relying on each other and staying closely bonded as a source of strength, even as time goes by.

Chael: My dream is for us to grow as a group so we can hold a Dome tour and perform on massive stages like Coachella.

Takuma: I really want to do a Dome tour. I’ll keep running forward so the day comes when we can create unforgettable memories with LUV8 on a huge stage!

Junwoo: Throughout our promotions, I hope every single member stays happy and has a journey without regrets. I want us to always stay healthy, have fun, and stay together for a long time. Thank you!

Ian: I hope we can stand on bigger stages and introduce LUN8 to even more people than we do now. Thank you!

Yuma: My goal is to make LUN8 known to more people. I want us to become a group that receives a lot of love from everyone.
